You should have received your Intention Card by mail, but if you misplaced it or didn't receive one

Each has a distinct focus.
is time given to God in prayer, reading the Bible and studying the Catholic faith.
My recommended readings this year are:
1) The Gospel of Matthew; we begin the year of Matthew at the Sunday Masses this Advent.
2) “Bearing False Witness: Debunking Centuries of Anti-Catholic History” by Rodney Stark
as a way for many to regain appreciation and pride in our Catholic Church.
If you prefer movies to reading, many quality video programs and family oriented movies are

is work given to God’s Church. The focus is the action given to the community. It is offering a sacrifice to God. Though the word talent is used, quite often what needs to be done requires little skill or ability.
is our “tithe,” a percentage of our income offered to assist the needs of the Church and it’s mission.
Our stewardship process is different this year
. We are focusing on four areas most in need of volunteers, and have two other areas listed for additional variety. Parish school families—these are good opportunities to fulfill your 24 hours of stewardship each school year.
Heavenly Dusters clean the church on Saturday mornings from 8:30 to 10:00 am.
Each team does this 4–5 times a year. Can you help us by contributing just 8 hours a year
to your church? We need 28 more people.
Children’s Ministries during the 11:00 am Sunday Mass needs adult volunteers.
If you are high energy and enthusiastic this is a job for you! Additionally, every summer we
also need help with Vacation Bible School (VBS) in late June. Volunteers for both programs
must complete the
Safe and Sacred training.
Adult Choir helps us all sing at the 11:00 am Mass – on the 2nd and 4th (and 5th)
Sunday of the month. Practice is held on Sunday mornings at 9:30–10:30. You do not need
a solo quality voice to sing in a choir.
Parish Picnic workers are needed every year, but especially on Saturday, June 17, 2017.
We want to recruit volunteers now. Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at
7:00 pm in the Social Hall. Please mark your calendars for both of these dates.
We can also use a few more people to assist with:
Padua Perks, on the 1st Sunday of the month (at noon), needs help with both set up
and clean up.
Parish Office can use help preparing mailings a few times a year and answering the
phone on occasion.
Those of you already volunteering have my deep gratitude.
Thank you for answering the call.
