Parishioner Stewardship Scholarship Application
St. Anthony School is a valued ministry of our St. Anthony Parish Community.
For over 160 years the school has been financially supported by our Parish Community.
A fundamental Parish objective is to provide our parish families an opportunity for an
affordable, quality, Catholic education. We do this by providing each registered Parish family
the opportunity for a scholarship that is based on their family’s involvement in both worship
and in their contributions of time and talent to our Parish Community.
Parish Stewardship Scholarship Eligibility Policy
At least one parent must be a baptized and a currently practicing Catholic who lives according to the Precepts of the Roman Catholic Church. Please see below.
The family or the Catholic parent must be registered in the parish and practicing stewardship for a period of 6 months before becoming eligible for this sizable monetary benefit.
The child(ren) attending St. Anthony School must be:
- Parent(s) must apply for the scholarship each year and agree to meet or exceed the
three minimum stewardship requirements set forth below:
Annually complete and turn in the Parish’s Annual Stewardship Intention Card in October.
Attend Mass at St. Anthony at least 26 weekends a year. Attendance is counted by dropping your pre-printed envelope in the collection basket. If you contribute monthly just drop in an empty envelope. If you forget your pre-printed envelope just take a small piece of paper and write your family’s name and address on it and drop it in the collection basket.
Volunteer a minimum of 24 hours of time and talent each year. Failure to meet these 3 items will result in the elimination of the scholarship.
1) To participate in Mass each Sunday and on holy days of obligation.
2) To fast and abstain on days designated by the Church.
3) To confess one’s sins at least once a year.
4) To receive Holy Communion during Easter time.
5) To contribute to the support of the Church.
6) To observe the laws of the Church concerning marriage.
7) To join in the missionary spirit and apostolate of the Church.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church lists 5 precepts (Paragraph #2041). The last two are included elsewhere in the catechism and are equally important.
St. Anthony Parish commits to:
Send due date reminders to families through Wednesday Notes.
Review each family’s stewardship compliance in April of each year to determine if they are in substantial compliance of the minimum requirements.
Consider extraordinary circumstances that prevent a family from meeting the minimum stewardship requirements.
Notify families prior to May 1 of each year if they failed to meet minimum stewardship requirements and are no longer eligible for parish tuition rates.
Our Family Commits to:
Meet or exceed the minimum stewardship requirements.
Monitor our compliance of the requirements.
Will notify St. Anthony of extraordinary circumstances that have occurred that prevent the family from meeting these requirements.
