A Note from Stacy Gillenwater, Youth Minister...
We have some very engaged young parishioners in our St. Anthony community, and I am blessed to be able to spend time with those who represent our church’s future. I get to listen to their stories, work with them to provide countless hours of service, and even get to hear their goofy jokes and banter.
While today’s teenagers have many distractions like technology and social media, a lot of them still take the time to interact within their community in very meaningful ways. We are all called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and our parish has several high school students who answer the call frequently.
While many of their peers were kicking back and relaxing during Spring Break, over a dozen
St. Anthony high schoolers recently participated in an annual event that combines service, exploration and fun. It’s called 10 for $10, and as the name depicts, it involves going to 10 different places in one day, at a cost of $10.
St. Anthony is blessed to have such vibrant and passionate youth who made a difference in the community during their Spring Break, and had some fun along the way.

What is 10 for $10?
During Spring and Fall Break our High School students have the opportunity to participate in the
"10 for $10" program. We will leave St. Anthony campus at 10:00 am and participate in a total
of 10 service and fun activities for a cost of $10. It includes lunch, snacks, memories and loads
of fun! Next time grab a few buddies and join us. Contact Stacy if you are interested.
Past years activities have included: making coloring books for Kosair Hospital, service at Mattingly Center, St. Elizabeth’s Maternity Home to help with chores, Active Day, Goodwill to sort clothes, visit the 21C Museum, St. Martin of Tours, Walking Bridge, Schimpff's, Ultimate Frisbee, a Picnic Lunch, Please & Thank You Coffee House, St. Joseph Children's Home, Carnegie Center for Art & History, WW Cousins, Home Depot (to put shopping carts away), Tonini's, Widows Walk, Falls of the Ohio clean up, and Hiking.
During our 2019 Fall Break we helped the Red Cross, wrote positive messages on the sidewalk in front of the library, put candy bags together, played bunco with residents at Westminster, and hiked at Lapping Park!
