We should each pray and decern for ourselves how much to contribute and then do so in generosity. Three things your gift should be:
1. The gift should be planned. Planning our giving allows us to give from our “first fruits”, not our “left-over’s”; we are putting God first in our lives not last after everything else.
2. The gift should be sacrificial. This gift must come from substance rather than remainders. The percentage does not matter, what matters is that whatever percentage one gives that it be sacrificial. To be sacrificial means that it should be felt. For some people 10% is pocket change and not a sacrifice at all. To others 10% would hurt their family. Thus we need to give what is sacrificial to us whether that be 2%, 5%, 10% of our gross income.
3. The gift should be intentional. Annually parishioners are requested to complete an intention card that contains a pledge an amount of money to the St. Anthony Parish community. The intention card is confidential and is not legally binding. What the intention card will do is help our parish plan for the future. Current year Intention Card
