Parish Education Scholarship for Active Members
A fundamental objective of St. Anthony of Padua Parish is to provide our parish
families an opportunity for an affordable, quality, Catholic education. St. Anthony of
Padua Parish Community therefore provides financial support to active parish families
for both St. Anthony of Padua Elementary School and Our Lady of Providence High
School.
We do this by providing each registered and actively involved parish family the
opportunity for a scholarship based on their family’s involvement in both worship and
in their contributions of time and talent to our Parish Community.
Parishioner Stewardship Scholarship Eligibility Policy
1. At least one parent must be a baptized and a currently practicing Catholic who lives
according to the Precepts of the Roman Catholic Church.
2. The family or the Catholic parent must be registered in the parish and practicing
stewardship for a period of 6 months before becoming eligible for this sizable monetary
benefit.
3. The child(ren) attending St. Anthony School or Providence High School must be:
- A baptized Catholic. If not, the scholarship eligibility begins six months
after they are baptized and become practicing members of the faith.
- Practicing the appropriate Precepts of the Church, especially participation at
Sunday Mass.
St. Anthony School Parent(s) must apply for the scholarship each year and agree to
meet or exceed the three minimum stewardship requirements set forth below:
1. Annually complete and turn in the Parish’s Annual Stewardship Intention Card in
October.
2. Attend Mass at St. Anthony at least 26 weekends a year. Attendance is counted by
placing a pre-printed envelope in the collection basket. If a family contributes
monthly, it may place its empty envelope in the collection basket.
3. The family must volunteer a minimum of 24 hours of time each year. Failure to
meet this policy will disqualify a family from receiving, or result in the elimination of, the
scholarship. These policies have been established due to the sad reality of individuals
trying to take what is not rightfully theirs. These scholarships reward those who have
dedicated themselves to Christ and his Church at St. Anthony of Padua Parish.
The Precepts of the Church

2) To fast and abstain on days designated by the Church.

5) To contribute to the support of the Church.
6) To observe the laws of the Church concerning marriage.

These precepts can be found in The Catechism of the Catholic Church, Paragraph #2041.
